Jayden came home from camp completely wiped out. He didn't even really have the energy to tell us about it. We drove into our driveway at 2.45 on Friday. He carried his bags inside, walked to his bedroom and climbed straight into bed. He was out in less than 2 minutes. Woke up at 6pm and was a box of birds, over the top excited telling us about camp, how good it was, what he'd done, how he couldn't wait to go back there etc, etc.
Of course I had checked on how it went with the DP at school and it wasn't completely incident free, but he was pretty good during 9-3 while his normal school time meds were working. Hope the evening wasn't too much of a shock for them. We know what it is like when the meds wear off, so we are used to it and have our own way of managing behaviour that we have fine tuned now.
Anyway, overall seems to have been a super positive experience for Jayden. He was happy about what he had achieved whilst at camp and seemed to have had fun with at least a couple of his room mates, which was one of my worries when he left.
Hats off to the school, teachers and parent helpers who managed the camp and provided such a valuable experience for my wee boy.
